New Doors, New Days, New Strengths... Make for fresh New Opportunities & Blessings

I have a love of doors. Doors of old, new, classic, chic, modern and quirky...I LOVE them. It may seem odd to some that I have this affinity and great affection for doors, however, I now believe at my lovely young age, I have the answer. I took the photo of the beautiful blue door below in the beautiful seaside town of St.Andrews, in Fife, Scotland. Our daughter attends university there, and it is the birthplace of golf! Every travel adventure I’m blessed to take, I’m always drawn to doors...

I love that doors are the first to welcome you in anywhere you go, so I’ve always believed that a door to a home needs be aesthetically pleasing and welcoming. I love the mix of textures, paints & styles. Compliment the door by adding flowers to a beautiful pot, a whimsical door knocker, chic door handle, classic light fixtures or a wreath. It adds to the beauty and wonder of what’s to come once you walk through that very door. Some doors tell tales and are mystical and mysteriously drawing you in and wanting to share their stories.

However, I have discovered my love for doors has greater depth and meaning. I see the opportunities all doors hold, and, yes, the old cliche “when one door closes, another one opens” holds ostensibly true. I’ve been blessed the past week on many levels. I' chosen a new door to open.

Opening this door has brought me into a family of women that I didn't know two weeks ago (except for one, the lovely @jcobbhome). They have welcomed me into their special group, opening their doors to me. Life may throw us curve balls; we might stumble and color out of the lines as we navigate this thing called life, however, it's the doors we choose to open and surround ourselves with that can help us find our way. Walking through these doors lift us up, supports us when we need it most, and gives us that nudge or sentiment to say, ‘be brave, be strong and know that you are never alone...’

Next time you are walking, stuck in traffic, traveling to a small town or a big city, take a look around at the beautiful doors. And remember, you choose which doors to close and which to open. Make your door beautiful-inside and out-welcoming those in need because what we give, we get back in return tenfold!!
